If I remember correctly, Whitey came back and won his class a year or two later.

I might not be remembering correctly though, but still, amazing to live after that.

Major respect to him. It takes a lot to get back on after a high speed crash. I had a rough high side on the track and had my doubts for about 3 minutes. lol
