most people that try to tune an S2000's suspention end up fucking it up.....kinda like why you don't see many lowered BMWs and stuff. I will NEVER knock a Miata but I think that test was done by some seriouse mazda lovers. they got 14.6 out of the miata in the quarter and 14.9! ! ! out of the S2000. i have NEVER seen an S2000 go that slow. Also, the few mods that were done to the S2000 will do absolutely NOTHING performance wise. They are just that good right out of the box. Miatas are great cars, anyone that is convinced that because of what this article says, the Miata has a better chassis or even as good a chassis as the S2000 is more than welcome to come for a ride in mine...maybe even a drive. I think you'll be impressed.

The Miatas chassis is really really well balanced front to rear, or at least used to be. They even went the extra mile and put the battery in the trunk... I'd still rather have an S2000, it has everything over the Miata in the looks department... and if the differences are close, who cares? They're both great cars..

I think they are both great cars. I am in the process of cinsidering a new car and a miata is one of them. you can get one that is 2-3 years old for half the price of a new one with relatively little milage. So thats what I think i'm gonna do.....

well I doubt the S2000 will be stuck with 240 horse forever. You never know though. Hell, they were only supposed to make 'em for one year. Keep in mind though, if Mazda gives that car 250 horse they're gonna have to beef it up a bit. The last thing I think mazda should do is try to make their own S2000. the cars are in two different markets with two totally different target buyer in mind. Mazda has been very successful with that car and I would hate to see them mess anything up because they want to build a car to compete with the S2000. I can promise you however, that if Honda decides to build another S2000 (S2200? S2400?) it will once again be at the top of the field.

as long as they would make the sport suspension standard and not an option i think the current chassis would handle that 13B's power just fine, but I dont think they will put that motor in the miata to be honest, they have too much of a stronghold on the under $30,000 roadster, the toyota mr-s is suppose to be stopping production sometime soon which leaves no competition for it, it just wouldnt make financial sense for mazda to add more power and have more competition (i.e.-s2000, mazda's own rx-8, bmw z4, 350z, etc) But i'm hoping theyll come out with the next gen rx-7 not too long from now, now that would be badass

The miata has one big advantage over the S2000. About 300-400lbs less weight. Miata's weight about 2350 and the S2000 is about 2700 or is it 2800 not really sure. Miata's are great handling cars. So are s2000's. Its an interesting comparision really.
