Winter refresh to-do list 2013

With the winter months coming and most of the competitions/events postponed until the warmer months I was wondering what everyone is planning to do.

What do you guys have planned for the off season.

My list:
Replace Hazy discolored headlights
Update interior
-Make a flush gauge mount for cubby hole
-Seats/brackets/sliders
Replace all engine gaskets
New bushings
Repair rear quarter panel
Coilovers
Wheels

knocked out one of the to do lists this afternoon, traded trunks with a local guy. super stoked. he came over and swapped trunk, torsion bars and the rear covers on the inside for appropriate third brake lite, was pretty painless.

Event never really stop for me. 4wheeling events happen all year long

But plans for the
01 Jeep Wrangler (daily driver)
install SYE/Driveshaft
install rear tire carrier
install rear locker (buying it this weekend)
weld on new swaybar endlinks for the front
fix intermittent hvac issue
new rearmain oil seal
new rear pinion oil seal

03 Jeep Wrangler is a never ending project that keeps me having something to do in the garage. The list is long and it will be awhile before it's finished.

So I can do more of this

The turd:
Install radio.
Replace hood, hatch, and both fenders.
Clean up and install little odds and ends in the interior.
New set of wheels.
New suspension, something that doesn't beat me to death.
Fix minor issues under the hood.
Maybe get it repainted before spring but I doubt it.

The Banana Mobile:
Install suspension.
Maybe get exhaust.

I'd LIKE to get:

Factory wheels refinished
New exhaust (literally just one click away from purchasing, but so indecisive)
Coilovers

Pretty sure only 1 of those three things will happen in the next 6 months haha

DO IT!

Does anyone have expireance with suede steering wheels? I've always been on the fence about them, but I would think they would just ware out quickly. I want to get this personal wheel, but don't want to shell out the cash if it'll look like poop in a few months

marlinspike 02-04-2013 04:12 PM

Re: Winter refresh to-do list 2013

IMHO they only make sense if you're going to drive around with nomex gloves and have a steering rack that only goes ~270 degrees.

And yeah if you don't wear gloves the alcantara wheels get messed up quickly.

Sold contour, so essentially pushed that off the cliff so check that.

-changed serpentine belt, check (easiest belt change evar omg)
-dealership screwed up my order, so still waiting on rear pads I ordered 3 weeks ago, rotors are in
-diff and trans fluid will be changed this weekend if it's not balls cold
-bought wheels
-ordered lip 2 days ago

I'd say not too bad.
