Wondering who makes the best service manuals, I am trying to learn to work on cars and don't really have many people to help me out. Thanks.

 

Bently usually. What kind of car though?

 

Bently is awesome for VWs/Audis. I've never looked at any of their other stuff. If it's a Honda you're working on, I've only used Haynes (not worth the money, IMO) and a factory manual. The factory manuals are awesome.

 

factory manuals are damn sure the best. you can have almost zero knowledge about the car you have, read the manual and end up being able to put a motor together,now if you cant comprehend the information and have a lack of inclination of anything mechanical and cant retain the info, than its a different story.

 

Factory manual it is, It's a 92 Civic with a D15.

 

Aren't Honda factory manuals made by Helms?

 

Helms are very nice, I wish they did manuals for more of the car manufacturers.

 

Yes, the Helm Corporation makes the factory service mauals for Honda/Acura. Hands down they are the best manuals to buy. Expect to spend around $60 for one.

Agreed. Bentley manuals are wonderful if you own a European made car.
