haha... that's a perfect way to:
look inferior
drive a lower class car
have less traction
and spend 5x the money to run 11s
he'll spend more money making a civic as fast as the eclipse as he would pay for repairs on the eclipse in a lifetime.
as for what i'd do:
boost control - $50
downpipe - $250
EGT Guage - $150- $250
walbro 255 fuel pump - $100
DSMlink/SAFCII + logger - $600?
injectors - <$400
FMIC - $1000
ACT 2600 - $400
50 trim, or whatever turbo you want - $800
w/ bigger intake pipe - $100
272/272 cams - $600
i may be forgetting a few little things..
there you go... 11 second car for $4500 and some tuning

Why the f@#^ does everyone assume cause its a 2G the motor is gonna blow up?? Thats gay as a bitch. How many of you motor mouths have had one actually blow up??
There is a big difference between a bearing wearing and a motor blowing up. If you think about it there isn't much you can do to stop the bearing prob. Now blowing up is normally looked at as to someone overly abusing a motor and it taking a shit or to much power. Now how many 2g eclipse motors have you seen actually blow up?? I have not seen any yet. Not that they don't or won't blow its just not as easy as all of you make it seem.

if you're not a fucking idiot, the motor in any DSM will last. i and many of my friends have layed down 400+ whp for quite some time on stock blocks... my buddy Ed has won several trophies at hte DSM shootout with his 1G that he bought off the showroom floor in 91. the head has been off ONCE since he bought it, that being 200k+ miles ago. and hte head ONLY came off to isntall cams, NOTHING else was done with it off. 200,000+ ORIGINAL MILES on the MOTOR AND TRANSMISSION and STILL running LOW 12s on the same setup that's been doing it for YEARS. i happen to know several in the 500+whp range on STOCK 2G BLOCKS and have been doing so for quite some time.. that includes winding the STOCK HEAD (aside from camshafts) to 8500 RPM EVERY RACE. 4g63 is bulletproof. any of you fools ever look at whos saying what? look at who tells you DSMs are unreliable and the engines blow up: honda bitches and people with SLOW DSMs. who will tell you the 4g63 is a great motor and is bulletproof? the guys with FAST DSMs who know what fast is and how to do it. most of the fast guys haven't blown a motor. a lot of the slow guys have. the problem is, there are too many fucking idiots trying to give vehicle advice. if you dont know anything about the car, shut the fuck up. i've seen the same SR20 swap catch fire 2+ times and another blow up twice. do i go around telling people the SR20 sucks and blows up all the time NO because i know that one of those instances was bad luck and the other was user error. if your mouth isn't spouting experience, fucking shut it please. i just made a list of parts that will get this guy in the 11s for about the cost of making a honda run 14s. have a nice night.
