Cool, now they can get my car in the air.
supposedly the GTR is like 5 inches off the ground. Nissan is being picky about certain specs of their lifts and whatnot.
The average lifts that accommodate normal everyday cars are too tall off the ground. The GTR cant fit.
So they said for any dealership to get a GTR, the dealer must have a GTR approved type lift, that is lower then 5 inches to the ground.
They have longer ramps for the GTR to roll up on, and have more ground clearance or something. IM not EXACTLY sure why, but whatever. we got new lifts today.
Nissan will be coming to our shop to inspect all the other equipment pretty soon, and they will let us know what has to be replaced/repaired to get a GTR.
BTW: only GTR techs can touch the car. Normal techs cant even adjust the tire pressures. Its stupid, but that will fade out soon after its release.

I don't think the gtr is really gonna be much lower than other sports cars, however nissan is being very anal about it.

the GTR is 5.3" from the ground, and 30" from the front of the wheel to the frant facia (where it would bottom out) normal lift ramps wouldnt accompany this for some reason.
we also are getting 2 new sets of post lifts for that one tech i was talking about earlier, due to it being so low.
nissan requires all sorts of dumb shit for the GTR to be even seen at the dealership.

-roadforce balancer
-tire and rim machine with bead seaters
-new posts for at least 2 of our lifts.
The GTR take priority over all the cars in the shop for that one tech that is qualified to work on it. even if its an oil change.

We are getting one at Nissan of NN down jefferson by Ft. Eustis.
we only have one tech that is qualified to work on them, but he isnt registered for class for the GTR training until september. So we wont get one until after hes done with that training.
BUT, we just got our GTR compliant lifts put in today. and the GM is talking about sending that tech to school sooner, so we can get the GTR quicker.

as far as i know it is.
some guy from out of state i guess.
we are getting the car, PDI-ing the car, its going in the showroom for 24 hours, then its gone.
the word around the shop is that the guy came and dropped 10K on it, to reserve it. Hes going to pay the rest when he comes to pick it up.
and i dont know how much he is paying, nor do i know what color he is getting. 2 of the colors that come on the GTR are basically the same shade. Gun metallic, and titanium metallic? stupid.
