last saturday, i did a 2 hour food drive at food lion for school. all we did was stand out side of food lion, gave people flyers as they walked in food lion. we told them that we were collecting food for victums of hurricaine isabel and asked if they would liek to donate any canned food or nonperishable foods to the charity.
is that similar to what we are going to be doing?

i'm thinking that i might pass out flyers(november 12th) to all of the houses that are on my street. and tell them that i will be collecting the food saturday the 15th. but should i give them bags so that they could put the food in for me to collect it? and if so, would you(either TTE or Kroger since some of you work there) be able to supply me with paper bags?

edit: Carl, you should talk to nick(hybrid awd) so he can talk to the owner of the poq. seafood house about donating food or something like that. the main reason i think nick should do it is because he's been working there a lot longer than me and knows the owner better too. its just a thought

i will check on the paper bags. most likely that shouldn't be a problem. yes we are basically doing the samething that you did at food lion. also trying to get the scene into the mix to improve our image. mostly to help the less fortunate though.

yea, hopefully all the "street racing" cars parked at kroger won't intimidate people. but its during the daytime so it shouldnt be a problem. do u plan on having any kind of posters that say something along the lines of "Food Drive at Kroger" and have people stand at the intersections trying to pull in some people? becasue kroger is sorta hidden from the main road. this is just an idea, how many of these plans that actually get done will rely on the amount of people that show up to offer help. i already made sure i have the day off.

 

yes i have a plan of attack for the sign. i am gonna make one out of plywood and paint it black and post it in the ground. with red or white paint we can adveritise the event. yes putting people at the corner will help too. that sounds like a volunteer job. TTE gets pretty tied up with just making sure things go smoothly. never thought there was much to a charity event. but it is all worth it in the end. i know i will look forward to dinner that night.

 

well if u need any help getting this set up or signs made and stuff, just let me know and i'll try to fit it in my schedule between school/work
