Default TK Sports Showa S2000 Coilovers

I was just about to make my KW V3 coilover purchase for my S2000 when I ran across a set of TK Sports coilovers. They're made by Showa and appear to be identical to the Spoon adjustable coilovers. Does anybody know anything about these coilovers? I don't know anything about TK Sports.

they have progressive springs, so I would stay away.

Most performance/track oriented coilovers have linear springs with a fixed rate.

?wtf?

having progressively wound springs offers a much nicer ride than linear. if the dampener is adjustable then you can make it super solid for the track but either way these seem to be the way to go. also, showa makes great suspension.

No, coilovers with shitty dampening with way high spring rates ride like crap. Ride quality has nothing to do with the "type' of spring.

Progressive springs have a spring rate range, meaning it will feel different in different turns. You want your car to react the same on every turn.

If you care about turning you want linear springs with decent struts that will handle the increased rates.

Get something with fixed rates.

So what type of springs do the Spoon coilovers have?

Also, you can't go wrong with KW, IMO. I can't wait for my v3s (of sorts) to get here.

When purchasing Spoon Coilovers, you can get customized spring rates 8-24kg/mm I think. I looked into getting them myself.

IIRC, KW v.3 have linear front springs and progressive rear springs.

KWs are linear. They have a smaller spring that mounts on top of the linear spring, but it's more of a helper spring than anything. It keeps the spring in the perch at full extension, but it's almost fully compressed when weight is on the wheels.

:edit: I just bought the KWs

I have a set of T1R coilovers on my S and I'm absolutely in love with them. They ride sooooo damn good on soft-mid damper settings with my spring rate where its set. I haven't increased the spring rate too much as I don't really track my car and the stiffest damper setting is good enough for when I hit the back roads around here with some buddies.
