Thinking about another vehicle purchase.....
I'd take a busa over a gixxer 1000.
Reason? I have zero intention of ever racing the bike on a closed course. With that said, sit on both bikes and tell me which would be easier to live with on a day to day basis. The busa has a flatter powerband, more comfortable ergonomics, better weather protection, is easier to ride, and has available accerssories to actually make a long distance trip a viable option. Yes, it's rediculously overpowered, but it's a very nice, comfortable, real-world bike too.
If all you want are bragging rights and a bike who's performance is WAY beyond what your abilities will ever be, buy the Gixxer 1000. If you want an awesome real world bike, with performance that is still well beyond what your capabilities will ever be, and will still stomp 99.9% of anything you could ever hope to race, buy the busa.
