Suggestions for first car
or you could just do research. think for yourself. this question is not hard for the individual, but much harder for others.
every one has preference. ultimately you will buy what you think serves your purpose the best, what anyone on the forum has to say means nothing in your search for a car.
my take on it.
honda or toyota
two most reliable, and gas sippers in the market imo.
do you want to look good. go fast. get groceries
answer those questions and then find what you want, this question is like asking someone how to urinate. its pointless and shows that you are taking no initiative on your own.
i can offer you this

looks bomb ass
and gets 30 mpg mixed city and highway.

I assume that once we pick the car for you, you will want us to:
1. Tell you what wheels and suspension you should get.
2. Photoshop your car so you can see how it would look modified.
3. Take pics of it because we were bored.
4. Drive it around for you, hoping to be spotted and added to the "Official Spotted" thread.
5. Sell/trade it for you because you've outgrown it and want something "different".
6. Start this process all over again.
Just go get a HRT bus pass.

If my limit was $10k, and wanted good gas mileage + good looking I would probably go with a 99-00 Civic Si, or a EG or EK Hatch. That's just my opinion though.
