Default Sub Box question

Hey getting ready to build a sub box for my truck and its kinda new territory for me. What kind of wood is best, and im assuming liquid nail and something else to seal the box. info would be appreciated.

liquid nail will seal fine!

Next question, the 12s im runing are the JL Audio W0. on the site it says the best Sealed Enclosure Range: 1.00-1.75 cu.ft. (28.3-49.5 liters)
what exactly does that mean? also it says continues power handling 125 watts, so should i be running 125 watts to each sub?

LxWxH / 1728 with give you cu.ft. For example if your box is 14"L x 12"W x 12"H = 1.36 cu.ft. If the woofers require 125 watts RMS then yes thats what you should push to them.

JL does underrate their subs i ran closer to 200 on my 10WO's but i would recomend you talk to stereo shop since im not familiar with 12WO's but yeah 3/4 MDF, liquid nails, and a nail gun and a lil upholstry will seal it up nicely.

if you want to save a little wieght you can use 5/8" particle board, i used MDF and it keep splitting the wood. so i bought particle board wood glue and silicone for some extra sealent. i used sheet rock screws instead of nails, but thats just what i'm used to. i would recommend building a ported box(just go by the specs on the site)imo its better than a sealed box

If you want to save even more weight, use thinner wood and brace it properly.
