I didn't hear anything about that...but I do know that at around 9:30 this morning, just going from the Hampton Centre Parkway exit to the Jefferson/64 exit, I passed about 6 accidents, one involving a new'ish looking tahoe that somehow managed to cross over a exit ramp, into a ditch line, while taking out a lamp post.

Yup, just went to Williamsburg for lunch. The State Police closed 64W at Fort Eustis.
EDIT: A video from someone heading down 64E.

There's gonna be a bunch of UPS packages late, lol. I counted 15 UPS trucks in that.
I would have liked to have seen how that started. But I'm glad I didn't have to go down to Hampton today. Work was canceled, but that wouldn't have been bad, apparently traffic backed up all the way to my exit, 242.

Oh how i remember the VA drivers, i do not miss that part at all.
This is how i was taught to drive in the snow
-double your braking distance for all speeds
-no slamming on brakes/gas
Although i traded VA drivers who are extremely timid and frighten at the first drop of rain, for new yorkers who believe they are all the best driver in the world.
its a win/lose everywhere you go.

I'm confused half the people like the OP want the cars to go faster so they can all travel the same "safe" speed because the condtions are not that bad... and everyone else thinks that mofo's just need to slow down because they are not superman in their SUV's.
So which one is it? I wonder what category those people in that 50 car pile-up would fall into?
just sayin....

its not people going too fast that causes accidents, its them not knowing that you cant just slam on the brakes and expect to stop in the same distance as dry conditons.
