99-04 Mustang GT's are slow in stock form hands down. They can be made fast, but when there is a car in their same class that beats them by a second or more and by 7-10MPH then I will classify them slow.

I ran into a GT one night with exhaust and I manged to put a car on him from 40-55MPH. That's just sad. There wasn't a Mustang built to hang with a 4th gen F-body until the Mach 1. The Cobra can be put in there if the guy in the Cobra can't drive, but with equal drivers then it's not even a race...the Cobra will win.

modular GT's were never made to keep up with F bodies. that's what cobras are for. the GT is just a decent entry level V8 sports car. they outsold the F body many times over, but it wouldnt have hurt for ford to bump up the power levels. they really didn't make the 96-04 GT's the way they should have.

The Mach1 is what the GT should have been. Power wise anyways.

I never saw jason's dyno but Ive seen his car and I highly doubt he only dynod at 235. His car was a 5spd and ive seen stockers almost hit that mark.
Regardless, 12.8 for what that car had was moving.

My car and LS1s dyno in the 290 range and run low 13s.
Why not?
I have less than 250 in my slow pos and hit mid 13's.
I think he said "mid-low" anyways.

stall converter and sticky tires has a lot to do with that.

you're right though, it isn't impossible, I was just thinking of a street type set up with a normal stall or 5 speed tranny and then running those mentioned times.

Jasons mods were h-pipe, mac exaust, 4.10's, skinny fats with bfg,s, cold air, tb, mas air, short throw, aluminum D/S and I think that was it.. I forgot he didnt dyno 230hp it was 243rwhp.. My old roomate Kungfuhampster dynoed 234rwhp.. Jason could drive his car.. I think in 03 he went through 4 trannies.. drag racing is how well you get off the line, How well you drive your car, and how much your car weighs..

I am just sticking up for a fellow V6 owner.. But yeah it seems that mustang GT modular guys dont like to see V6's modded.. When my car was stock I never got that much slack from the LT1/LS1 crowd.. I got that V6 shit talking from the 96-04 GT mustang crowd.. Billy with the silver supercharged GT That runs 11's use to give me so much shit about having a V6.. Never use to give me any respect.. Now I make more power then his car and he doesnt talk shit on me no more.. will I run the same numbers as him?? Eventually but not this year.. I still need to get a tranny and a 12 bolt.. but Thats the thing I have noticed.. 4th gen F-body guys and girls realize I have a V6 and back then they still respected it for being a F-body.. Mustang guys and girls dont even consider V6 mustangs as a mustang.. Why is that?? They have a stock motor V6 mustang that runs 10's on v6power.net.. Stock motor.. What is the fastest stock motor 2valve out there??
