Springs v.s coilovers
i had skunk 2s slammed on my 10 year old stock struts for almost 3 years, no problems, decent ride compaird to friends cars with different coilover set ups. i guess it all depends on peoples experiences, but i give them a thumbs up for the price.

Anything done already?
If you're on a budget look into Ground Control, Koni and KYB for suspension.
Got money falling out of your pocket? Read some good thing about the Advance Design coilovers (~$3200 for a set) on some of the SCCA forums.

if your goin handling, get something wit linear rate springs.....wich most coilovers come with, but if u get springs the ride will be more comfortable, becuz there non-linear spring rates.....better for comfort but bad for handling....
