Question Speaker setup questions.

Ok, So my Buick only came with 4 speakers form the factory, two 3-1/2" in the front dash and two 4x10 speakers in the rear dash. I replaced both sets with Polk audio speakers (switched the 4x10's for 5x7's) but I still have to balance it out 4 to the rear to get it to sound right.

I PLAN on adding my 2 10's in the trunk to get a little more bass out of the car gbut the main question is if i want this to have a nice sounding audio system, should I add 2 more speakers into the doors?

What I have so far:

Polk audio DB351 3-1/2" dash speakers...
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...dio+db351.html

Polk audio DB571 5X7's
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...dio+db571.html

i'll have to look up the specs on my amp and 10's when i get home. I am very unfamiliar with audio setups so go easy on me. let me know what a good way to setup the car to get really good sound out of it. Thanks.

if you want it to sound good on your front speakers put bass blockers you can get them at sounthern elctronics there mad cheap to stop distortion from bass and you can put them on your rear speakers also but not neccisary unless the 10's your putting in are hittin nice and like he said if you can bridge your amp bridge it but make sure your speakers r bridgable cuz if not it will blow your speakers (not all speakers are bridgable but most are ) and that should make it so it doesnt sound like a bunch of bass cuz the blockers on the front so u can actualy hear the vocals

o and the speakers should face the back of the car not the front cuz then its hitting backwards and it will just be shaking the trunk and when you run the wire to the subs and to the amp make sure you use monster wire and be sure to get a decent deck cuz the deck has alot to do with it

ok first off on 3 in speakers you shouldnt have that much bass coming through there anyways . dont really see the need for bass blockers on these unless they are cracking or your in a bass off playing bass muisc . then they are neccesaary . but wouldnt hurt to have since they are mad cheap.

2nd off bridgeing your amp.. just depends on your ohms load on your sub speaker and your ohms on your sub amp if you want to bridge them and drop the ohm load tht is if your amp will be stable at that ohm load.and wiring setup is important for your speakers and your ohm load as well . you just need to match your ohm load for the best sound, quilty, and reliabilty of these products.

just because you can bridge a amp doesnt mean it will sound better.

ANYWIRING KIT SHOULD BE FINE DOESNT HAVE TO BE MONSTER CABLES .just dont buy a walmart one and you should be fine . just get some good rca cables . and run the rca cables on one side of the vech and the pwer and ground on the other side . dont overlap + - and rca will give you feed back most of the time .

and yes a decent headunit will work wounders. i like pioneer for a low end unit with high end spec with out breaking the pocket. just about all pioneers have a built in eq and comes with a remote normally comapred to other and detach face .

if you looking for real clean music invest into a crossover or a nice eq. (alot of people will object to this and say its not neccassry and its not its just a tuning perfernce tool to adj the tunes tou want manulaly).

for more clarafication on this go to the12volt.com

I would get rid of the 3.5's and custom build either kick panels or door pods with 6.5 mid/woofers and a good 1" dome tweeter set. Possibly look at getting a good 4ch amp to run the frt/rear speakers.

Q forms are made for those cars. I'm not sure what your budget is like, but you can have a really good sounding setup with a small investment. I would suggest investing in some sound deadener first off. A good set of components can be had for under $200. And running them active will give you the best sound. Thats a little advanced and you'd have to do some research. But its worth it in the end.
