Sold Lotus - Keeping & Modding Corvette...
List to do first:
1. fix security/bcm issue so it doesn't constantly think it's being stolen
2. fix clutch (stage II spec any good?) & upgrade/flywheel too
3. New cooling system (need suggestions)
Plans to either s/c or boost the car - Suggestions on this also welcome. What of the above goes well with the plans to boost it?
Suggestions on everything from pistons to BOV welcome.
Everything needed.
Also, suggestions on Color of new paint, style of paint, any cosmetic things...all welcomed - looking to get a nice aftermarket hood too (no CF shit please) Post up!
Thanks

Just curious, did you not like the Elise? Or was it the expensive go cart part? Haha, either way sounds like you are going to have a sweet vette. Good luck.

Re: Sold Lotus - Keeping & Modding Corvette...
Clutch wise I would look into centerforce dual friction.
What kind of power are you looking to make? You can easily be in the mid 500whp range on a stock motor with either a blower or twin turbo setup. If you're looking for big big power though I think it is easier to achieve with a TT setup, although it will probably be more expensive and less reliable than a blower.

Concerning your temporary car: 90% of your time here will be wasted unless you like childish banter and replies. Go read the aforementioned forum section.

haha.
This is going to be a permanent vehicle. I decided i really do like it :P
Also to the above, I didn't like the lotus b/c it was the most uncomfortable car i have ever been in. Even after buying a small pillow to shove behind my lower back, It still killed me.
It's a bitch to get in and out. And of course, it is just an expensive go kart.
so...forget the elise...The vette is worth fixing. I like that much better.

A set of good heads and a matching camshaft will get you there and not add to weight and complication. Not to mention much cheaper.

List to do first:
1. fix security/bcm issue so it doesn't constantly think it's being stolen
Search for fixes on the corvetteforum
2. fix clutch (stage II spec any good?) & upgrade/flywheel too
Spend the coin on a Textralia w/ a billet flywheel. I've had an aluminum flywheel for over 3 years now and it's fine, but a big cam and the light flywheel make for somewhat poor stop/go drivability
3. New cooling system (need suggestions)
Depends on what you're trying to do, but I'm running a Dewitts racing radiator w/ EOC (enlosed oil cooler) only needed for the track. Since mine won't ever see the track again I'm pulling it this winter
Plans to either s/c or boost the car - Suggestions on this also welcome. What of the above goes well with the plans to boost it?
Go with a proven system... either A&A's Vortech based kit or ECS' Paxton based kit, both are the best in the business. The Paxton is a larger head unit so it is capable of higher boost, but both will blow up a stock motor just fine. If you want to go big then get a forged 346, 402, or 418 and an ECS Paxton kit.

MCM (motor city mold) are the best fitting out there, and yes they're carbon fiber, but most people paint them. I have a DRM hood but it's no longer made.
Thanks
