Royal Purple
royal purple by itself will probably increase power a fraction of a horse power and will very insignificantly improve smoothness. anyone who says that they can tell a big difference over regular oils, is having the placebo effect

^^^ exactly ^^^
I use it in the S2000, but can't feel any difference. If there is a miniscule difference that could be seen on a dyno, I figure that means slightly less friction and therefore slightly less wear and tear. I don't know that it does anything at all compared to cheap over-the-counter oils, but it's cheap peace of mind.

exactly. the gains do exist but are so miniscule over regular oils, that they basically only exist in peoples' minds

I use it in all of my vehicles and I'm satisfied. It's no miracle horsepower product but it definatly does what its designed to do. As far as the price goes even $10 a quart would be cheap compaired to what it protects.
Like previously mentioned, the only improvement I saw was in the transmission fluid. Before using Dextron/Mercon ATF, my transmission would grind 4th and reverse quite often.Almost a few times a week. Since Sept 07 I have used RP Synchromax in the trans I have had it grind only 1 time.
I haven't seen any hp increases at all using the oil.

I use it,I can't really tell a difference but I only had mobile 1 in my car for the first 3000 miles, and I'm at 16000 now.Royal Purple at the BX/PX is $7.45, at that price it's almost making me want to switch to AMSOIL http://www.amsoil.com/storefront/asl.aspx?zo=5931 it's $7.40 a quart and they were the first to make a synthetic oil.
