Default Radar Detector Problem

My detector is throwing off the K Band warning whenever I get near to Giant. This used to be X, but I turned X off. Now all of a sudden the K Band goes off, and I have tested this at two different Giants (electronic doors send off radar). Anyways K, Ka, and Ka X are used by police. I usually get the Ka X warning when FFX cops are around. Anyone wanna take a shot at this? This never happened before

It's because the automatic door openers work on the same frequency as K band radar. I refer to my Passport 8500 x50 as an Eckard's detector

My first car was a 3rd gen F-body, so moot point, I would have replied the same way regardless because your sig is retarded and you can't even figure out that there are hundreds of RF transmissions in a city that operate in the same frequency of your radar detector, and anyone who has ever turned one ON should already know this.

I really wouldnt be saying i had a radar detecot if i lived in va , cops probably look at this site too. Its not worth the fines and trouble to have one if you get caught.

Thanks for the response vmspoinage.

BUT! Like I said, before the doors were only giving off X Band frequencies, I turned X band off and nothing ever went off for awhile. Recently I go by the Giant/Safeway and the doors are throwing off K band INSTEAD of X now.

The only thing I'm going to say to help you is to put the damn thing on city and slow down around Giant Food Stores since the doors would mask a real deal. There's not that many supermarkets, you can slow down for that 5 second block...

LoWPRoFiLE,
Just give up.... To save you some serious flamage. It looks that most people don't care and arguing with them is only going to get you embarrassed. In answer to your ? though, maybe they changed frequencies that open the door. ie. new door.......
