dont most detectors come with vg2 early warning and shutoff, the fine is only like 60 bucks and they dont take the detector from you so i would rather take the chance and use one w/o getting points, than to get caught, plus fines, and points

Re: radar dectector/detector
yea yea ok talked to an ex cop buddy i work with. he said that the xm radio operates off of the x-band and 90% of radar detectors use the x-band. and the radar detector/ detector uses the x-band so the xm radio sets of the copd detector/detector. and if you get count using it they can take it and give you a ticket. so instead of getting cought just take it down before he gets to your car. adn tell him you dont have one maybe it was the xmradio since it uses x-band and he shoudl say ok thank you have a nice day. like thety said to me. just thought some of you may beable to use this information. and you spent 5 minutes of your time and saved what ever fines you may have gotten.

Re: radar dectector/detector
this is from the Road Warrior in the newspaper
Hey, Road: I was recently pulled over by a state trooper for speeding, and he took my radar detector. I’m not sure when and if I’ll get it back. James M., Chesapeake
Dear James: While having a functional radar detector in your car is illegal, the state cannot keep it. Officers can, however, hold the device as evidence.
After your court date – during which, presumably, you’ll be fined – you can get it back, either in person or by mail (and you pay the postage).
You can carry a radar detector in your car, as long as it has no power source and it is not within reach of anyone in the car.
