Default Question about cheap HID's

So has anyone ever had any issues with inexpensive HID kits? Or any suggestions for some?
Thanks,
Damien

I have owned 2 sets and both didn't even make it a year! I retrofit some TSX projectors and HID's and they have gone 2+ years now without a glitch. Plus no glare !

I had some, think they were called MaxLite or something like that.

Worked great, great light and look. You will be getting a LOT of highbeams flashed at you, however.

edit: Probably wouldn't do it again without a retrofit.

The ones i got where a company named HALO. Almost all the generic companies on ebay use the same type of ballast and bulbs.

Cheap HID kits suck, the bulbs don't work that great with the stock reflectors, so the beam patterns are poor. That's why everyone flashes their high beams at you.. If you want to get a HID retrofit kit, get one with reflectors included, then they'll actually work properly.
As far as not lasting very long, that's a gamble not matter what unless you go with a respectable, quality company (read: not cheap) with decent products.

If you have OEM projectors it is better...if you don't you should at least retro fit some sort of projector in. If you're gonna do all that you might as well get some nice TSX/E46 projectors and throw those in there.

I have JRT Lighting HIDS, they are the shit. They are a really nice kit, not sure what you mean by cheap but mine were 180 shipped.
