Angry Possible blown motor??? What do I do??

I had my car taken in to my family mechanic so that I can get some schoolwork done this week.
He finally finishes in four days so I go to his shop, pay him, then jump in and take off.
On my way home I see smoke coming into the cockpit and it smells! I couldn't figure it out so I figured I'd go the rest of the way home and find out, since I was only 200-400 yards from my house at that point (down the street).
Suddenly my oil light pops on, and then my battery light, the car lights dim, and shuts down. Fu**! And smoke comes out from under the hood.
I get out and check the dipstick after 10 minutes, and find it BONE DRY!
I called the shop and no one answers b'c they're closed ... I never re-started the car b'c that's common sense... and I'm wondering what will happen if the shop puts oil in it and it runs fine then, but blows later b'c of what has happened ????? HELP.

If you're wondering, I had them replace 2 lower coolant hoses (oil filter housing), and change an alternator as well as do other diagnostics to foreshadow of any future mis-haps/events.

Most likely your rings are all fucked up.

Even if they added oil, and primed the system, it's still going to burn oil.

Get them to rebuild it.

Haha, I didn't know what else to call it other than interior... Yeah, I'm gonna make them repair it whether they like it or not. They'll probably give me some BS excuse of how it's okay 'cause it still runs.

If he'd rather not pay now, then I'm fu**in' fightin' for a warranty, GD!

I had it towed 7am this morning to his shop (right before he opened), and met him with my car on the tow truck as he opened the door and explained to him .

I agree. If not, there's always the fun of starting a lawsuit.

hahha... not laughin at you or anything just the shop, i mean i trust my family mechanic with my car and all, but if any mechanic period ever fixed a car and had it tottaly burn up like that, he must not have been checking the right areas of the car or maybe he just lost his class ring in ur block.

haha, yeah for real.
Well, I just got back from the shop and he said the smoke was the antifreeze burning off from when he replaced the coolant hoses, as well as the smell.
The battery light was b'c he didn't charge the battery before he put it back in, but he did today.
He said that there doesn't appear to be any damage done to the motor, but, if something were to happen as far as the oil it's on me b'c I change my own oil and the shop doesn't... and for the fact that my engine may already have had a leak before I brought it in... so here goes!
