i agree with eight grand.....this event should only be at the ames parking lot where it happened and it should only be this weekend. it looks like we already have alot of people going so why change everyone's plans? sung what's wrong with the location? plus if the news/radio stations are coming then it might not look good if we move it back a week. just my 2 cents.
for what its worth and i m sorry if i step on anyones toes, but next week could work also cuz it would give time to get more word out and develop some good ground rules and how to enforce them on people who wouldnt respect em, it could also help to get more companies involved also for raffles and stuff like that, its just an opinion thats all, like i said before i hope i dont offend anyone.
Just got another idea .... Sung any way you can get in touch with Shawn Ballouzo (Ballouzo Engineering) see if he will bring out the Dyno, and see if he will put at least half of what he makes from the Dyno pulls towards the charity fund.
i chatted with mike zarpas, the owner of the AMES shopping center for about 30 minutes today on the phone. he is a very nice guy, and is actually very supportive of the "racers" in this area. the reason he won't allow us to use the property this weekend is because his insurance rates for the property just went up 30,000/year and he can't take the risk of liability of another accident.
he did say if we could get our own insurance for this event, he'd be more than willing to help out. but other than that, i don't see it likely for us to be able to use this lot. it's very unfortunate, but i can understand where he is coming from. if anybody else has any suggestions, let's hear them. he also said he had a conference call with portsmouth police and they're really going to be locking down this weekend.
