Was thinking bout having a aftermarket sunroof installed on my car. Looking for a place in the Fredericksburg and or NOVA area. Anyone in these areas now any place that do great work. All replies appreciated.

 

Don't do it. They leak, look like crap and they leak.

 

Yeah i know most do. I have seen some that don't though. Just curious. If i cant find a place i might take it to a honda dealer but ill pay like crazy for it i know.

 

Alot of cars have a roof support that goes across right there. All that has to be cut through to clear a sunroof. Really, buy a car that came with one from the factory, aftermarket will never compare.

 

That i didn't think about... If i took to honda would they just replace the whole roof with one that already has a sunroof in it????

 

Im pretty sure its not a removable piece. If anything, maybe sell you a headliner for a car w/ sunroof. I helped a friend put one in a 91 EF sedan, had to hack through the roof support with a sawzall. cleaned up the edges, had the weatherstripping on it perfect. Shit still leaked.

No. The whole roof would have to be detached, and a different roof welded in. It's a lot more than a Honda dealer would do, that's a major piece of surgery. You'd be looking at a new roof, the sunroof parts, the install labor, and a paint job, none of which could actually be added to the price of the car when you sold it.

If you want a sunroof that bad, get a shell with a sunroof and swap all of your stuff over to that.
