Pickid up some new shoes today for the R:)
AWD DEFINITELY help get around corners... noob...
I am at HPDE IV as of this summer. Tracks I frequent are Roebling Road, Road Atlanta, Kershaw(Carolina Motorsports Park), VIR, rickingham (not the drag strip) and Limerock. I have been to each of these 2 times or more so far this year. In 2005 I made it to 26 track events and in 2006 I did 30 track events. In 2007 I have averaged over 2 track events a month so far for the year. I am also an certified SCCA instructor and in 2008 will have completed the requirements for my NASA license. Lets not go there...
Just as an FYI, if you know how to drive your car then 235's are more than adequate. And there probably are plenty of Mustangs that will "wax that ass"... but yours is not one of them so lets keep the "I have a friend that knows a guy with a _________ " bullshit to a minimum.
How much track time do you have behind the wheel?

What class are you trying to get your comp licsense in?
AWD helps your power out of corners. Grip is grip no matter what wheels are providing the power.
Oh, and I dont have a Mustang.

I instruct with NASA. 40+ track days. What NASA events have you done this year? If it was Mid-Atlantic I was there. Dont remember any Volvos.

At events that "count", I will be in a beat up looking white E36 M3 w/ the checkered flag on th fender. Soon to be an E30 though... People on here seem to car a lot more about hp and this one is strong but not enough to brag about, lol. Money was spent on some very nice suspension, chassis mods, cage and brakes.
The volvo is a car that can run high 11's, handle decent, hold it's own at a show or SQ competition, comfortable for road trips, quite enough for dates. Does many things very well but there are certainly cars that will be better in any single area. Just an all around fun car. For local/open track days and such this is what runs. For time attack It won't qualify most of the time due to no cage. Anyways, the volvo has the stigma but it more than holds it's own.
And to say AWD doesn't matter for traction... anyone seen "THE" Audi quattro video and what that did for racing?

You're not getting anywhere by preaching. You sound like an elitist.
I don't think anyone is saying a Volvo can't be fast. I've seen plenty nice/fast/well rounded Volvo's. What usually loses the respect factor is the owner, and everything they talk. You're doing that right now. Looks like you've got a nice car, and if you use it on the track, cool... be try to be a little more subtle and not so arrogant/cocky.

How did I make an asshole post? You're the one coming across as a douchebag. Can't take a little ribbing?
Wow..you're fucking full of yourself aren't you
