Opinions on Audi S4
I've been looking for a car for some time now and found a 2000 S4 with 70k miles it's in great condition body wise but I've been reading some pretty bad reviews on audi. The car has one problem that is listed as a common problem which is the tach is missing some pixels..the tach alone costs $500...can anyone who has owned an audi give me some insight on some common problems and how hard are they to work on..thanks
Don't buy one with 70k miles. It was traded in at 70k miles because the previous owner knows that that car was about to cost him some serious dough. If you buy that car now, expect to spend at least $2500 in the next 5-10k miles repairing or servicing the car.

Checkard Flag had one on the lot when I was looking for a new car. I did a ton of research and the fact that the turbos blow often and you have to pull the engine to replace them scared the hell out of me. I wouldn't own that car without a warranty. But that's just my personal opinion.
I love Audi's, but I'd only buy a lightly used one as long as it came with Audi Pre-Owned Certification.
If I needed 4 doors and couldn't find a decent M5 used I would buy a new S4
- great cars and they lease incredibly well.
Speaking of Checkered Flag - they have a Silver 2005 (brand new) S4 sitting on the lot. They also have 2 2006's so that 2005 needs to go!

is it at a dealership? if so is it audi certified? if so then they would change all the belts and replace the tach before you get it. At least our dealership did that when we got ours, but i would ask the dealership about it . If it isn't from a dealership no dont buy it cause you would spend a ton of money on it for its 70000 mile maintenance.
