Just dont beat the shit out of it,and do fluid exchanges like every 5000 miles.
I heard there not really bad if you take care of your tranny,just dont forget the company that makes it,its the most affordable for a reason.

i know someone who has one in a 400+ integra he's had no problems. when he got it he inspected and reassembled it with stronger hardware. but, its still an OBX

Drag racing is a pretty easy application for it; it only needs to work in a straight line without any speed difference through corners. It should work fine.

Cheaper yes, better is debatable though. Strip-only cars have used spools for a long time with great success. A spool will put a lot of driveline stress into the tranny when doing any sort of turning with slicks though, such as at the beginning or end of a run when you're getting on/off the track.
