You think getting a sponsorship is that easy? The reality is that you have to spend a lot of money before a place will even consider sponsoring you.
They're not going to think "hey, lets take a shitty car and slap our name on it and try to make it look better" when it's far cheaper and more worthwhile to think "hey, lets take a nice car and slap our name on it and make it even nicer".
Look at all the sponsored cars in the import scene. They all spend countless amounts of money and time before getting sponsored.
The reality is that you aren't getting sponsored any time soon if you just want hookups.

what soulDistortion is saying is basically the "harsh reality". i'm sure he didn't mean it in a mean way or anything, but honestly, that's how things are, man. you gotta initially make the car "worthy" of being sponsored. get your foot in the door with a few small car-show wins. hook your car up a bit, make it "stand out" to the company you want to be sponsored by.
being sponsored isn't just "getting free parts". you're out there representing a company. sure, they'll help you with what they would like to see on your car, but you're going to be doing a large majority of the work. it takes a LOT for a company to just go ballz-to-the-wall and take over your car for you.
so as soul said, and as i said earlier... start small. get your foot in the door first. and THEN worry about being sponsored.
