Later this week I'm getting my hands on an E30 325is to build as a project/future track car. I'm going to end up having almost 5k left over for mods (wheels don't need to be replaced, just tires). If any of you guys know about building BMW's give me an idea or two for my E30.
thanks.

I just realized this isnt gonna get looked at at all in off topic, could a mod move it to general discussion so i don't have to double post?
Hmmmm, 5K really isn't that much in the overpriced BMW world. I guess it just depends on what you are looking for first. You could do brakes and full suspension with a rollcage if you want and tear the hell out of some backroads for the time being. Or you might be able to swing an S52 swap and be fast as balls. It's really up to you. I'll think of something cool though, give me a few hours.
A full S52 swap is gonna cost around 4-5g. I have a list at home of EVERY part you need to complete it. With 5g or so to throw in a 325is I would put a full coilover suspension and sways, as well as the basics (intake, exhaust, short shifter), and maybe throw more agressive cams and a deisel crank to increase the compression.
If you plan to make it a full on track car check out the E30 parts on www.bmptuning.com they make alot of really good upgrades for the E30 chassis.

Fuck it, I've been trying to think of something cool all day and the best thing I can say is cut your springs and buy some big-ass BBS LMs with tires. That should eat your budget away to nothing.

haha...the cars already got some nice BBS's (not sure what type i only worked on it for a couple hours during the summer, and haven't seen it recently). Right now what I'm looking at fixing up the suspension (shocks/springs or coilovers, w/e, sways, stress bars etc.) Then just intake, big bore throttle body and some more aggressive cams and a chip from bmp made custom for the car. After that its time for weight reduction weight reduction weight reduction lol. The entire car just needs to be together by spring, so i'm not so worried
I'm just excited about having a new project to work on after my accident.
