Is there anyone that knows someone or is someone that can do a tune on an 87 Toyota Supra with a lexes afm. Im having some serious problems with air/fuel and idoling speed. If any could do a tune that'd be great.

 

turn the adjustment screw till it evens out. I think the standard procedure is to screw it all the way in, then have 2 turns out, 720 degrees. After that, reset the ecu, and let the computer figure itself out after about a 30 minute easy drive. If all that doesnt work, check for leaks in your intake track. Mine worked perfect the first time I tried it, didnt even need a tune.

wait i think ur talking about something else im talking about an engine management system (lexus afm) with 5 dials on it that adjust idle speed, wide open trottle, air, fuel, and one other that i cant think of right now.

 

the lexus afm is the air flow meter used from a lexus v8 engine which is put into a 7m motored supra in conjunction with 550cc injectors for less duty cycle and a higher boost limit. You are probably referring to the hks fuel computer or whatever that helps trick your stock ECU into thinking its doing something right. What I'm telling you is that before you start messing around with the ECU, you need to tune the afm. If you look on the afm, there should be a port where you adjust an air passage for smoother idle.



If you dont know the difference between a lexus afm and a fuel computer, put the pliars down right now, and walk away.

thats wat i was saying in the first place is that im looking for someone to do a full tune on my car and ur right i shouldnt be messing with it.

 

sounds more like a VPC to me?

 

and what I am saying is that the car will run just fine without the hksvpcfconebc2. make sure that the car runs right BEFORE you tune it.
