Need some help on a 2005 mustang GT
My dad recently broke his ebrake (whenever he pulls it up it does nothing) and has a check engine light on that has been on for some time now,the check engine light causes his rpms to constantly jump upand down between 500 and 1500 rpms even when he's idleling, he went to beach Ford and they proceeded to tell him it was going to be around 200$ to fix his ebrake and they told him needed to replace his throttle body and quoted 700$ for that. My question is does anyone know where I could bring his car to get a 2nd opinion, I have a feeling the dealership is pulling his leg a bit. Thanks

$300 for fixing an ebrake, depending on whats broke, could be justified. Most likely its a tiny bit higher then it should be.
And 90% of check engine lights on S197 Mustangs are related to that god forsaken drivebywire bullshit throttlebody so I don't doubt that either. And they are about $590, so that sounds about right as well.
Does it throw itself into Limited Power Mode? Wrench light on in the dash?
What are the codes the car is throwing specifically though?
