need info/opinions on '90 supra
i have a chance at a 1990 supra with 117K miles on it... 5 spd... possibly for less than a grand. but i know nothing about them. prob not turbo. don't know condition except that it runs... don't know what extras or what color. i'll know more friday. someone tell me something about them. are they decent cars? what kind of fuel economy do they get? how well do they perform? what kind of aftermarket support is there for the non-turbo version?

Like Flow said if it's a NA it's going to be slow as shit. But if it's a T and you're getting it for under a grand that's a steal! If you don't want it LMK.
NA fuel economy is ~24mpg
I had a T and mine was close to the same as long as I didn't constantly hit boost.

Perform as in what? if it's NA it's going to be slow as shit.
as far as handling, with upgraded springs, shocks, and a FSTB it does just fine.
For anything else you want to know I'd suggest you ask at a forum dedicated to surpras like www.supraforums.com
www.i-supra.com
or one for strictly mk3s like http://www.supramania.com/
because I doubt you'll get much feedback here.

Re: need info/opinions on '90 supra
Thanks for the info Pyari Chick
You all gotta remember... slow is a relative term. right now I'm driving a '96 monte carlo... the supra even as N/A would weigh 200 more lbs but it's got 40 more hp, and a 5 spd manual vs. my 160hp and 4spd slushy

@tiki
I'm going to assume you meant 40 more hp...
I'm not sure what you consider slow....but a car that weighs ~3500 and achieves it's ~170rwhp@6200 is pretty damn slow to me.

And yeh I guess compared to someone w/ a decent car it's slow... but it's faster than my Monte.
Hopefully I'll get lucky and it'll be a turbo. yeh right...
Did you ever sell your turbo that you were trying to sell on the supra board?

Re: need info/opinions on '90 supra
A guy who lives close to me has a built one. From our discussions apparently you can get solid 13's in the turbo without too much work, maybe a high 12. But I don't really know, haven't looked it up myself.
