Reminds of the time I was changing oil on a friends car that was hot. I dropped the plug in the drain pan and plugged the pan. 5q's in the driveway.

 

it'll also happen if you don't open the breather hole on the side.

 

I did the exact same thing about a month ago. I grinded a couple bags of kitty litter in real real good and let it sit on the stain for a few days and every bit of it came up.

 

What you need to clean it with is some muratic (Spelling might be wrong) ACID. This will def clean it. Will get in there and bubble up and remove all the oil.

Everytime i have spilt oil..i get Quick dry (cat litter,whatever you want to call it),and then i either use my feet,or Small blocks of wood..and Grind the Quick dry into the spot where the oil spilled at...it absorbs every bit of Moisture left over from where just putting it down,wont soak it up.dropping quick dry on the ground,just stops oil from moving..it doesnt absorb whats already seeping into the ground....after you grind it into the ground/oil..let it sit,and spread it evenly around,to make sure you didnt miss any spots...then sweep it all up...after that,whatever you need to do,whether it be pressure washing,or scrubbing,should make the stain go away.

 

try sprinkling tide on it. lightly wet it and let it do its thing.

 

Non-factory filters are generally junk.

update on the filter, I went there last night and checked it out.
The filter didnt fit and thats why the mutherfucker spilled. Put the old filter back on and viola no leaks.

Fuck that honda filters from now on

 

change that to cheap aftermarket ones, and i will agree.

GM and DCX use whomever bids the cheapest to make their filters, as do a few other manufacturers. i am not sure about honda, but i assume that its the same way. you may be getting two different filters, at different times, and they are made differently.

I have never had an issue with Wix or Hastings. We go through about 50-150 filters a WEEK, and rarely have issues. i use OEM ford, subaru, and Volvo filters due to cost constraints, i buy about 200 of each at a time and get a better price than my Wix ones.

the whole saying "you get what you pay" for comes to mind.
