~3,800lb car (concidering the use of the Zeta platform) + 400BHP, LS2 = slow.

It's an unfortunate fact that light weight materials are expensive. I've also always doubted GM's use of the LS7 in the Camaro.
The current Z06 owners would cry foul if GM put they're mighty engine into a run-of-the-mill Camaro.
We'll see... but like I said, I doubt it. If the new Camaro is going to be built on the Zeta platform, it's going to be heavy, and it's going to need the LS7 or some form of 500BHP power plant to compete with the GT500.

yea i had faith when scott settlemier said the major downfall of the 4th gen was excessive weight and measures are being taken to not go down that road, but honestly its looking pretty grim to me.
and they BETTER make some production camaro to compete with the gt500, otherwise it just wouldnt be right.
hell im not even sure if an ls2 camaro (z28) will be able to beat the current mustang gt with the IRS and all the bs, and theres no telling what ford will pull out by 09
