Default Looking for a new car

Not "New" as in 06/07, but new to me.

The parameters I have set are: I have a $10k max budget, I want a 2 door coupe, I want something that is appreciated and has a good foundation of a body so I can put certain minor additions here/there on it to bring out my personality in it, has to be somewhat safe. We're not talking H2 safe, but we're not talking geo tracker unsafe. Something within' the "Average" safety zone. Because this is going to be an investment for myself, I'm hoping to buy a reliable car that's recent, so the year I would like is 2000+. Just for a general idea, atm I'm looking @ some eclipse's. Any other make/model suggestions any of you can think of that meet the parameters I've set? Btw, insurance costs is a factor as well, so no mustang cobra's. With a recent quote a 2000 eclipse gt is actually 200 cheaper every 6 months than a 4 door 2000 acura integra. Weird eh?

Well, help me out bros.

Trans-am or SS. FTW. Nothing faster and more dependable for the price. 25+mpg and 300+rwhp. Very mod friendly. Good nitrous system will put you over 400+rwhp. I prefer a auto but the 6speeds are a blast too. Good luck

2000-2001 impreza 2.5rs coupe would fall into that category. Safe, reliable, good gas mileage etc etc etc

Borrow a grand and buy an E36 M3.

Edit: Didn't notice the 2000+, but its pretty close. You really can't get better than the E36 M3 when it comes to a balance of power/looks/luxury/gas mileage/reliability/handling.

2.5 Impreza RS is a hidden monster waiting to happen. I think it has better power curve then the basic WRX; not including the STI motor.

seriously a nice ls1 camaro or firebird fits the description.

its been said before and ill say it again 25+mpg and over 300whp stock.
you can clean out the ashtray on an ls1 and pick up 10 ponies.

just consider it

Depends what you want. In all honesty, I'd just be mad modifying a slower car and getting picked on by faster cars. Go with an LS1.
