Reinstalling is a pain in the dick. If you're putting a hardtop on, then yes, ditch the soft top all together. But I can't think of any scenario where removing the soft top to install a roll bar and then reinstalling it would be easier than just installing the roll bar.

I guess I'm wondering why you want to do that? The only part where I think the soft top being in place would be an inconvenience would be to cut the section of the decklid for the bars, and even then, it wouldn't be that bad. I'm not saying removing and installing a top is rocket science, but it seems to me like that would be one more (well, 2 more) steps that you don't need to do.
I could be wrong though, I installed my bar without the top in place.

Started building my COPs harness last night . Get down to the last wire and realize i was following the 1.6 directions . Good thing i have extra wire ,or i'd be screwed.
