License suspended??
Ok so beach week this year back around june 11-20th i got arrested for underage possesion.....well it took all of an hour and a half to get to jail and back home with just a 115 dollar fine.....they siad nothing else about anything.....now today 4 months later i get a letter in the mail saying that my license will be suspended from Octorber 24th to January 21st.....almost 3 months??? Does this sound right???

I think that is retarded. losing your license for non-driving violations.
what if there were two of you, one with a license and one without? the person with a license gets fucked more?

It does not sound right, but if i was you i would talk to a lawyer. Unless you had that in writing that nothing else would happen you might be screwed.

well depends what the letter says, is it from the virginia dmv? if it is then ya ur suspended, but if its from anywhere in NC, then your fine to drive in virginia, Jurisdiction is such a beautiful thing

my friend got that same charge in PA. He lsot his license for 6 mo in PA and talked to a lawyer just to check on things and the lawyer told him that often times it takes the state the offense was committed in months to send it over to your state/dmv and something to be done about it. Often times it never even makes it to your home state so your license is only suspended in the state where the offense was committed. this is what the lawyer told him and this was for PA, it could be diff in otehr places.

They didn't give you a court date? I went to jail for trespassing and it took em 2 hours just to 'check me in' on top of waiting 6 hours in the cell, so be happy (I wasn't even drunk) After that, I got my court date and had to sign it. Underage Posession is a class-3 misdimeanor, I'm positive that misdemeanors are NOT pre-payable offenses. . . did you bounce on the court date?
