I was just wondering why is it that most JDM motors have around 30-35,000 miles on them? What is the deal?

Because in Japan when a car gets more than around 35,000 miles on it, the taxes and insurance on the car become really high. To the point that it is just cheaper to buy a new car, instead of owning an older one.
