jacking up car

Default jacking up car

anyone know what i should buy that will hold up the car firmly so i can go underneath it without fearing my death...cause the car rolled off my honda jack the other day when i went inside for a second

ive got 2 in my garage...havent really used them...should i get 2 more or will 2 work?....for some reason my dad told me not to trust them

if he says not to trust them, dont. buy a new set. you can use two and chock the other tires.

are you raising the entire car, or just the front/back? two will work if you're just lifting half. if you try to balance an entire car on two jackstands, then you're just dumb.

if you're that paranoid after raising it on jackstands, keep the jack in place after raising your car. don't forget to put something behind the wheels still on the ground to keep them from rolling, which is probably why your car came off the jack to begin with.

yes i agree... jack stands only cost about 20 or so. they could save your life.

well i have to raise it enough to be able to get the oil pan out...havent done it before, so im not sure if i need to life just the front or the whole thing??

to remove the oil pan? well i would raise it up high enough to work. just the front. i have a 3 ton jack that goes pretty high. and jack stands too. so i can usually be comfortable under my cars.

i'll help you with that. i have experience with jacking a car 3 feet off the ground. mine stayed that way for 3 weeks
