looking to start a new project and need some info/ feed back on a jdm zc vtec setup. like what kinda numbers do they normally make stock...how long do they last...do they need a lot of maintanence....and should i go with it? thank for all the help
If memory serves me correct, the 1.5L SOHC ZC vtec was the JDM Econo motor. There was a big disscussion on HT a few years ago...just can't remember details.
I try to find something on it.

There are two vtec ZC's from what I can tell...
the JDM 92-95 Civic ETi's that came with a 1.5L 16 valve D15B SOHC VTEC-E 1493cc and
the JDM 92-95 Civic's that came with a 1.6L 16 valve D16Z6 SOHC VTEC 1597cc
although I'm quite sure this is not the info that you are looking for.

i think what you want is the D15B...not sure why you would swap the block with a ZC...don't think there's anything special about the block...they might actually be the same block

the JDM ZC Single cam.Comes Factory VTEC...They make really good power for what they are...but it is just A single cam so dont expect to hear VTEC at all...You may want to try honda-tech.Youll get a much better response.Theyre regular maintenance just like any other honda engine
