i got an 88 Z24 cavalier.. its got an inline 6 in it.. im just runnin stock exhaust now but i want something with a muscle car tone.. a nice rumble at idle and loud when you get on it.. i dont know much about exhaust stuff so im turning to you all for advice.. a friend told me to run 2in pipe from the cat back and put a louvered glasspack on it.. but ive heard that glasspacks are illegal.. are they illegal? im not really lookin to spend a whole lot to do this so gimme some cheap ass ideas other then running open pipe haha

 

anything other than stock is illegal...

just run open block. take the header off and leave the muffler just hanging there, you should be fine.

 

buy a muscle car. some questions are easier than they look.

 

buy the 3" exhaust off my challenger, i want to run some cutouts anyways, that should give ya the muscle car tone
other than buying a v8 i'm not sure how you will get the tone...i've heard some decent SRT-4's but that's about it for the 4 bangers at least in my experience

 

 

i have never seen an inline 2.8

my professional advice though: go to PepBoys and get their Ractive or APC muffler (2 of them) and throw them on. but only hook one up.
