How to play GT4 online, instructions inside...
I will go through every thing you will need to do to get online and play GT4
1. Have a network set up, between your computers and PS2.
For ex. have a cable/dsl modem hooked up to a router then all you computers and PS2 hooked up to that router.
2. Get a network adapter or a slim "PSTwo" and use the network setup CD and setup your PS2, test it and make sure it's making a connection to your network.
3. Load GT4, go to options
-click on LAN settings, pick any name you want, If you want to host your own games select yes for host (if you do this you wont be able to join other peoples games, only host), No.of players 1, No. of monitors 1, Monitor position center, monitor type normal, network trafic light.
-click on network (in the options screen), Auto connnection, yes, connection ID 1.
-click on course register and click the courses, make all the courses you want to beable to race on orange. (you might not beable to choose all of them)
-save you game
4. shut off your PS2.
5. go here: http://www.teamxlink.co.uk/?go=flyer and dowload the XLink Kai Evolution 7 program for your operating system.
6. Go here and register: http://www.teamxlink.co.uk/?go=register
7. Install the Kai program you just downloaded.
8. Start Kai, log in and make sure it works.
9. Close the Kai program.
Now you should be set up
now on to playing:
1. start up GT4 and go to arcade (don't click on Multi LAN race!)
2. Start Kai on you computer
-Log in
-Click on the earth up top (switch to arena mode)
-Click on the arrow for Playstion 2
-Click on the arrow for gran turismo 4
-click on the arrow for americas
-find a host that you want to join and click the arrow for it
3. once you in a host's game on Kai, go to GT4 and now you can click on Multi-LAN Race. Once you click on this, go to Kai and tell the host that you have clicked on LAN race, then the Host will click on Multi-LAN race (the host always clicks it last)
4. Now this shouldn't take more then 2 or 3 mins, you will eventiually see a Waiting for connection screen, then course sellection, ect..
5. once you and the host have chosen the course and cars, you come to a screen that hyas all of the players names and will wait for every one to choose their cars, then it should start the race.
This will be the "quick guide" for doing this now, I'll give u guys more info and shit latter, i don't have time to do it now...
