Default Holy Shit This Is Fast!

On February 9th at 11:55am, a KLEEMAN® ML55K Mercedes Benz® SUV, equipped with Toyo Proxes S/T™ tires, rocketed into the record books attaining a top speed of 175-mph. This remarkable title of "The Fastest SUV in the World", was accomplished on the 7.811-mile "Speed Bowl" located at the Nardo Proving Ground in Southern Italy.

Piloted by Jason Watt, 2002 Danish Touring Car Champion, this supercharged 5.5-liter Mercedes eclipsed the previous 165-mph record which was held by a turbocharged Porsche® Cayenne. KLEEMANN A/S of Denmark is a renowned tuner offering products for Mercedes Benz® vehicles. KLEEMAN® specializes in supercharging technology which is applied to these vehicles, and the performance numbers tell the story:

5.5-liter supercharged V8 producing 607-bhp and 553 ft. lbs torque

5,291 lbs. vehicle weight

0 - 62mph in 4.9-seconds

12.9-second quarter mile at 109-mph

Official Top Speed - 175-mph

Tire: Toyo Proxes S/T™, 295/45R20 114V

According to Earl Knoper, Senior Vice President, Marketing, Toyo Tire (U.S.A.) Corporation, "We are very excited to be a part of this tremendous accomplishment. Our company has enjoyed a strong relationship with KLEEMAN, and their success on the track further acknowledges their confidence in our product and Toyo's commitment to quality." The Proxes S/T™ revolutionized the sport truck market as a dedicated, computer-optimized, ultra-high performance tire. Its cap/base tread compound is designed for cooler operation, while providing consistency along with excellent wet-and-dry grip. Specially engineered polyester casings with high ply turn-up construction help to assure rigidity resulting in an exceptional steering response. In addition, the Proxes S/T™ is M&S rated for all-season performance.

Then it would be a typhoon basically. thats 11 year old technology. 10s would be nice. The new trailblazer will take that down hopefully.
