thats what i was thinking. i imagined the actual weight was way less than that. weird.

 

The cooper S's are actually pretty quick and like montman said they do handle pretty damn good, I was looking into one at one point and they essentially were (and are) a joint venture between BMW and Mercedes, BMW for the chassis and suspension and Mercedes for the engine + supercharger. The other benefit to this is anywhere there is a BMW dealer you can get your mini serviced (which is good seeing as how there aren't an abundance of mini dealers) The mini's suspension geometry is said to be based off of the late model m3's and the gearbox is the the same (getrag 6 spd) I have driven them on a few occasions and you can really push them, handles near as good as my prelude with a good suspension workover, neuspeed springs / tokico shocks / Spoon strut bracing (f+r) and thats in their stock form with their "sport package" pretty impressive if you ask me.

yup face it, retro cars kick ass.

 

the mini o-60 is the fastest at 8.0 while the focus is 0-60 at 9.5 seconds. The mini 1/4 mile is 16.6 at 84 mph and the focus is17.1 at 80.9 mph. There is a difference guys!!
