Head light wipers?

I've never seen snow so bad that you needed wipers to clear the headlights. And if they're that frozen, wipers aren't going to do shit anyways. I just think they're silly. I was hoping this thread might enlighten me a little bit on the damn things though! haha
Its not really because it rains more. The roads there are alot darker. Not as many lighted roads like we have. Plus there isnt as many rest stops along the way so as a safety feature wipers or just washers were installed so that ICE, dirt, snow, and mud could be wiped away for safer night driving.
