Re: gm anti-theft
ok il finish it.Last night i cut the car off at the store. When i came back out i got in and tried to start it,but the security light was blinking when i turned the key. After some research on ls1tech i found the problem was gm passkey (vats). There was a cheap fix involving wiring in resisters to bypass the anti theft system.I found the resisters i need by testing the one on the key to get the number i needed. So i went to radioshack to get the resisters and wiring tools to do the job.I wired all the resisters togeter and spliced the wire leading from the ignition to under the dash.I went to start the car and same shit,no start. This morning i went to autozone and bought a new ignition, then headed to the locksmith to get the new passkey made. After this was done i went back to the car and unplugged the wires coming from the ignition to the antitheft relay and plugged in the new ignition in and started the car with the one already in it.Im really lazy and kinda scarred to dig into my column to change the switch so i think im just gonna rig the one plugged in to be permenent. Its basically a vats bypass.gm makes things so difficult.

Maybe it's a body control module ...also There are far more things involved than just ignition in this...
There is a tiny wire set that comes out of the ignition, that reads either side of the pass key...it leads to a connector under the dash then heads to the BCM
i suggest hard wiring out that connector.
it goes bad.....
test the connections around before you fuck with this and buy stuff.
obviously that ignition was wasted money...
so i would definitely read the resistance at different places...etc. before investing more
just my 2 cents

your fix was not cheap, it was far more expensive than just a tuner, b/c your fix did not fix the problem.
so now if you wanted a tuner, it's ignition + key + tuner = $$$TOTAL SHIT INVESTED IN SHIT
so to speak.
there are simple hard wire answers around your problem, just have to research and know what you're doing.
i don't think a tuner is needed for this anyway...they are right. buying a tuner custom for your 3.4L wheels isn't worth it
