Everyone I got a speeding ticket on 4 - 26 - 08. For some odd reason, ticket does have a little smudge on it, I thought my court date was 7 - 26 - 08. In actuallity my court date was 6 - 26 - 08. I just got a bunch of paper work today which is what drew my attention to this issue. My license is suspended, can I still drive to school and back, How do I resolve this , any type of driving course or just general mercy of court ??? PLEASE HELP

my buddy missed his court appearance down there for speeding and they just fined him?
I guess it depends on the judge. How does a 6 turn into a 7 anyways

 

So im guessing the boxed was checked that said you must appear? If not, its not a big deal, youre just found guilty in absence and the judgement is made. If it was checked, you should cal the court asap, you probably have a capias out for you. (in other words, youre a wanted man.)

Did you really follow up with "Can I drive to school and work"?

 

lol. And the answer to that would be yes. As long as you havnt received any citaions while having a restricted license previously. (it gets a little more complicated than that,im not 100% clear on that.) however, you need to see the dmv first, and they will need a letter with the proper letterhead from your employer stating the hours in which you work, and your school schedule.
(at least thats how it was for me about a year ago.)

 

The judge found you guilty in your absence. There will be no warrant for your arrest. He sentenced you without your appearance, part of your sentence is your license suspension. If the judge had issued a warrant or capias for you, you wouldn't have received the dc210 or dc225 paperwork from the court notifying you of you license suspension. No, you can't drive. Your only option to try and get a different sentence is to appeal the case. You have to go to the clerks office at the court (jurisdiction where the case is to be heard) and note your appeal. You have 15 days to note your appeal.


What was the summons for?

edit: After reading your post again, it looks like your appeal time has expired. It appears that the court suspended you for failing to pay the fine. You were tried in you absence, didn't pay the fine ( because you missed the court date and didn't realize there was outstanding fines) and the court sent the information to DMV. Your lack of payment caused DMV to suspend you for " for failure to pay fine". Go to the court, pay the fine, take that receipt to DMV, pay the reinstatement fee.

wow, yea I got paper work from DMV but its confusing as shit, so I figuered id ask her first.

So tommorow I gota get about 600$ in cash and go to the court then to dmv.
