I had a similar problem with my car a few months ago. It was smooth while driving around town, except under heavy acceleration. A bad vibration would start around 60mph and continue until about 80mph. So basically, at interstate speeds the car felt like the front end was going to tear itself out of the car. It ended up being my right front axle.
