Rampage Racing built a car shortly thereafter that went pretty fast, either in conjunction or a separate car from DRT (company that overcharged for a silly intake manifold that they advertised to make 100rwhp...yeah right)
Another MR2 from "close" to that area (New Jersey) was built and tuned by George Ioannu (sp) (Bullish Racing) but never went to the dragstrip.
All of these cars went through motors like dragva goes through parking lot hangouts, but ran "ok" times. There have been a LOT of rumors, but no confirmed timeslips.
Too many people talk a LOT of BS and never back it up. I would expect a mid 12 second car back in the day would easily convince the street racers back then that the car ran 11s when the 12 second car ran 14 second engine grenading crummy FWD traction Hondas from back in the day.

hmm.. I know a guy who used to loive in lynchburg with a yellow one, kaminari kit I believe... anyways, he popped the hood for me.. don't remember the specs on the turbo.. but he then showed me his dyno... 450hp range.. it was most impressive.. I can't imagine driving something that light with that much power. I would shit myself. Anyways, this dude had money.. he had a blue fd and at that time I think he just bough a new m5... he was working at the terry volkswagen\subaru.
ha.. i remember he asked me if I wanted to run him in my talon.. I was quick to turn that down.. then I said.. what the hell, shits and giggles... needless to say, I left him sitting..... in his mr2 about 40 car lengths in front of me.
