Ferrari IS going to pick up Kimi. Flav has already let that cat out of the bag. In fact he let that cat out of the bag a few weeks ago. Ron Dennis hasn't announced MM's lineup yet either which is just more proof that Kimi is going somewhere else.

Schumi is going to be sorely missed. He is without a doubt the greatest F1 driver in history. I am excited to see how Kimi does with a consistant and reliable car. I'd be willing to bet he picks up the championship next year.

yeah, I AM a huge ferrari fan, and the announcment of massa/kimi is great news. Former sauber drivers FTW.

I know everyone was expecting kimi to come to ferrari, but I woulldn't le myself believe it untill they actually announced it.

Did they officially announce it now? I don't have access to SpeedTV in my hotel and I refuse to check F1.com or anything else until I go watch the race at 12:30 today.

I think Ferrari's lineup is going to be hard to beat. Alonso hasn't been nearly as impressive since they got rid of the mass damper system. I see him in the top 5 at best. My thoughts are Kimi #1, Massa #2, possibly Jenson #3 (even though I can't stand him) or Alonso #3, And maybe a wild card like Heidfeld rounding it out.

Next year is going to be good...very good. Schumi will be sorely missed though. I can't see him getting out though. I wouldn't be suprised if he replaces Ross Braun in the next couple years.

At 9:35AM EST, Michael Schumacher has announced his retirement from Formula 1! This announcement came at the end of the Italian Grand Prix, in which Schumi took first place, winning his 90th Grand Prix. He will retire at the end of the season, in which he's hoping to take his 8th World Championship.

What do you think this'll mean for the future of Formula 1? Speculation has been that Kimi will take the seat at Ferrari. Do you think it'll happen?

I'll admit - it's been one helluva run for Michael at Ferrari. He had 5 World Championships and 90 GP wins while with Ferrari. He's the Michael Jordan, Wayne Gretsky, Cal Ripken Jr of F1. Sure, he may drive like an ass sometimes, but you can't deny what he's done.

I'm not a Ferrari fan, but Schumacher will definitely be missed.

officially announced. massa/kimi at ferrari next year. However, it has not been announced if that will be a jean todt lead team or not.

It is being implied that Schumi was forced off the team, or to make a decision as soon as possible so that the Massa deal could be done, as his stock has risen significantly of the past few months.

I love that implication. A cold hearted team making a cold hearted decision involving a cold hearted driver. decisions like that are why ferrari/schumi are multiple world champions both together and seperate.

IMO Schumacher is one of the greatest drivers in any area of motorsports, not just F1, at least as far as his dominance of the field.

i saw this coming, but i am so bummed. i started following forumla 1 in '94. being a little kid, i rooted for the guy who was winning. he's been my guy ever since. you could argue that schumi got me really interested in motorsport, particularly f1, in the first place.

you bet your sweet ass....

I like schumi, but above all else, I am a Ferrari fan, and have been felt like both of these drivers were destined to be in ferraris since they both came into F1.

holla for my former sauber drivers.
