I was waiting for someone to go that route-AWD tube chassis. I would, but I don't roll that kinda bank. Much luck to them, I hope to see it be successful and maybe make Brent Rau and Buschur have wished they kept AWD.

Any of the 'fast' FWD drag cars are running Ford 9" rear ends in the front of their cars. It's a longitudinally mounted engine, with a transfer case to shoot the power back up to the front. Like a 4x4 truck, minus the rear axle.

http://www.urbanracer.com/articles/a....asp?a=994&z=6 <- For pics of a setup using a Ford 9" axle in the front. If you look at the interior shot, you can see how the power is transferred from the engine, back down to a driveshaft and back up front to the 'rear' end.

Interesting the only ONE (FWD) I know of to have a ford 9" in it is Chris Rado's NORAD Celica. The GM cars with the exception of Marty Ladwig(running a GTP a/t) are running Fortin transaxles. The HotRod class cars are now allowed to run Xtrac transaxles, Gardella ran one all season and the other Hondas are going to follow next season now that NHRA gave its approval they are not going to ban them.
